This cancer is commonly seen in smokers.
Normally it is ulcerative and rarely exophytic. It is often delayed in diagnosis since the cancer of palate ulcerates the palate reaches sinuses and quickly spreads to the orbit. Hence many a times the surgery necessitates removal of palate, a part or whole of nose and eyes. Below are some photos of this cancer and a photo of post surgical patient.

Revised:
Post surgical view of this patient shows the palate resected, nose resected, the eyes gone. This is primarily because the cancer of palate, moves up and once it enters the maxillary sinus, it does not encounter any resistance to its growth. It therefore spreads in the maxillary sinus and in due course affects the eye of the same side, because there is a thin bone separating the eyes and the roof of the maxillary sinus.
